4-minute graphic video explaining why native tree species are important. Native tree species are the backbone of healthy ecosystems. Restoration often relies on just a few familiar species, leaving biodiversity behind. Instead, it needs diversity. Restoration needs diversity and comes down to planting the right trees in the right places for the right purpose.

Video Tanzania’s Native Tree Species (2026)

Tanzania is home to more than 1750 native tree species. While restoration efforts are well-intentioned, it sometimes relies on inappropriate species. To address this, the project prioritised 100 native tree species for restoration. An extensive capacity building programme has trained people across Tanzania, strengthening the native supply chain from seed collection to seed production. The web hub brings all the information together.

Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (2026)

These three resources provide an introduction to Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI). Gender Equality refers to ensuring that people of all genders have equal rights, opportunities and responsibilities. Social inclusion means enabling veryone to participate is equally in society and activities,  regardless identity, background, status or tribe.

The second resource provides an overview of the current GESI situation in Tanzania and the third resource takes a more practical approach by outlining ways in which organisations can become more GESI inclusive.
