Botanic Gardens Conservation International
BGCI provides a global voice for all botanic gardens, championing and celebrating their inspiring work. We are the world's largest plant conservation network, open to all. Join us in helping to save the world's threatened plants.

Public Engagement

BGCI has an extensive Public Engagement programme that provides a wide range of tools and resources to support and promote the education work of botanic gardens around the world.

Through a recent European project, we worked with botanic gardens to increase their social relevance, helping them to work with their local communities on common issues of social and environmental importance.

Our current projects:

A multi partner project which brings together the public, scientists, policy-makers and industry to help tackle the global challenge of food security.
A project which seeks to build botanic gardens’ capacity to develop effective programmes and activities to engage people with plants

BGCI's education team produces a biannual journal 'Roots' and organises regular training courses and conferences. We also have lots of training mateirals and resources from previous projects available on our education resources page
