In 2024, through the Global Botanic Garden Fund (GBGF), BGCI disbursed 46 grants, to 42 intuitions across 26 countries and and we are delighted to share some of the finished project outcomes.

The GBGF supports plant conservation—particularly in biodiversity-rich regions—by awarding small grants each year. Funded projects span a wide range of activities, from seed collection and educational initiatives to enhancing collection management in botanical gardens. The 2024 projects have delivered some outstanding results, including:

Rebuilding the Cacti Collection, Buenos Aires Conserving Cycas edentata, Negros Island Creating 120 School Butterfly Gardens, Argentina Seed Collection and Propagation, Madagascar
