On 30 June 2026, BGCI released a new PlantSearch Accessions Module that enables gardens to manage accession and specimen level data.

This new module significantly improves the features of PlantSearch and increases the data sharing value of the PlantSearch platform to support garden research, sharing of living collections data, plant material exchange and conservation efforts globally.

What’s New in BGCI PlantSearch: Accessions Module

We’ve rebuilt how your garden’s individual plant records work. Instead of separate “taxa” and “specimens” areas, every taxon in your collection is now automatically backed by an accession, and every accession is automatically backed by a specimen. This release adds a full set of tools for managing that data — from bulk uploads to day-to-day status updates.

PlantSearch online webinars and demo sessions are planned for the coming months, to share further information about the PlantSearch Accessions Module. If you are interested in attending one of these sessions or webinars please contact us to be kept informed.
