We are excited to announce that the International Plant Sentinel Network (IPSN) has officially surpassed 100 members!

We are currently 101 members across the globe, and during the last months our first members from the Caribbean region, the Bahamas and Bermudas, joined, as well as the first members from Brazil, Ukraine and Poland.

The IPSN is a global network of botanic gardens and arboreta that work together with plant health specialists and National Plant Protection Organisations (NPPOs) to provide an early warning system of new and emerging pest and pathogen risks through the monitoring of sentinel plants, as well as improving biosecurity best practices across botanic gardens and arboreta.

The milestone achieved is a testament to the growing interest and relevance of biosecurity and pest and disease monitoring worldwide and the importance of strengthening our links and collaborations to maximize our efforts to protect plant health. We are excited to continue expanding and connecting with professionals from all corners of the globe.

If you would like to join us in safeguarding our planet’s botanical diversity and be involved in a global effort to monitor pests and diseases and enhance biosecurity practice, become part of the IPSN. Your organization will gain access to valuable resources, become part of a supportive community, and have the opportunity to contribute to vital research.

Please contact us itxaso.quintana@bgci.org or lara.salido@bgci.org if you are interested in joining.

In IPSN, we are getting ready for the Plant Health Week, which will take place between the 6th and 12th of May. To learn more and connect with us during Plant health Week, stay tuned into our social media and discover new resources and survey activities!
