The National Botanical Garden Dr. Rafael M. Moscoso, Santo Domingo is pleased to announce the Congress of Botanical Gardens of the Caribbean and Central America. The congress “Botanical Bridges III: The botanical gardens today: point of convergence between conservation and usefulness of the floristic resources of the region” promotes the exchange of experiences and innovations in research, conservation and education to solve the common challenges faced by the botanical gardens of the region and the associated research institutions. It will take place in Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.

This meeting has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The first Congress of Botanical Bridges was held in Panama City in 2016, and the second (Botanical Bridges II) was held in Havana, Cuba, in 2018. These events served as starting points for the Network of Botanical Gardens of the Caribbean and Central America. It aims to encourage collaboration “bridges” between botanic gardens, botanical gardens enthusiasts and research centers interested in the Caribbean and Central America.

The conference includes oral presentations and workshops related to the work of the botanical gardens of the region. In addition, botanical expeditions and pre and post-congress recreational activities will be held.
