Global Conservation Consortia (GCC) affiliates are encouraged to attend the “Facilitating Species Conservation Planning Workshops” run by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature, Conservation Planning Specialist Group (CPSG) virtually, over the course of seven weeks from 29 September to 14 November. This training course will include a series of modules that will walk you through how to host a four day species conservation planning workshop, outlining the steps/ processes to follow, and tools and resources you can utilize throughout the workshop.
GCC affiliates will be invited to attend an additional 3 or 4 webinars/discussion sessions that will include content specific to plants that will align with and further support the information you learned throughout the training course. These webinars will include topics that will highlight conservation planning tools and resources for plants, and examples of plant conservation planning. Also, we will have one webinar session focused on open discussion, where we would like your feedback on the training course and your future conservation planning activities.
We are excited to announce that CPSG are very kindly offering a 20% discount to GCC affiliates applying to the training course. Please email Yvette Harvey-Brown if you are interested in taking advantage of this generous discount.
Scholarships available
Additionally, BGCI has some funding available to provide a limited number of scholarships for GCC affiliates to attend the training course. You will be expected to attend the whole training course, so please only apply if the dates of the course align with your schedule. Priority will be given to organisations with limited or no training budget and who will have the remit to apply the conservation planning skills learnt within their role. A maximum of two scholarships will be awarded per GCC. If you are interested in applying, please fill out this application form.
The deadline for scholarship applications is 25 August.
