BGCI is delighted to be a co-organiser of the upcoming Anthropology and Conservation Virtual Conference, organised by the Royal Anthropological Institute. This major interdisciplinary conference aims to explore ways in which conservation and people go together, recognising that conservation can only be properly achieved with the full participation of, and in full recognition of the rights of Indigenous Peoples.

The call for panel proposals is now open – deadline 12 March.

BGCI members can propose panels, or join the conference as a delegate, at the Fellows rate.

The organisers would particularly welcome panel proposals that have any combination of anthropologists, indigenous peoples and conservationists as co-convenors. The organisers would also particularly welcome proposals and papers from Indigenous Peoples, as well as from international or transnational bodies, whether organised around conservation or rights, or a combination.
