The Center for Species Survival Wilhelma (CSS) was created in 2025 as a partnership between the Wilhelma and the IUCN SSC. The Center has two full-time positions, one for Zoology (focusing on reptiles) and one for Botany (focusing on orchids). Both work in close partnership with the SSC’s volunteer expert groups, conducting extinction risk assessments, facilitating multi-stakeholder conservation planning and building capacity to save species.
Centers for Species Survival act as catalyzers; collaborating with the SSC and across NGOs, government agencies, academia and others, they work to understand the key networks, stakeholders and conservation efforts and identify priority gaps in assessments, planning and action.
Deadline: 20 September 2025
Contract type: Full time, Permanent
Location: Stuttgart, Germany
Salary: Remuneration in pay group 13 TV-L if all requirements are met
