Florida Gulf Coast University’s Water School invites applications for the Juliet C. Sproul Chair for Southwest Florida Habitat Restoration and Management, Associate or Full Professor position. This endowed chair will be based at the Harvey Kapnick Research and Education Center at Naples Botanical Garden, an interdisciplinary hub for wetland restoration, ecosystem management, and community engagement.
The Sproul Chair will provide leadership in Everglades restoration, wetland ecology, and habitat restoration and management. The position includes oversight of the Everglades Wetland Research Park, development of collaborative research and education programs, and engagement with agencies and community stakeholders across Southwest Florida and the Greater Everglades region.
This is a nine-month, multi-year renewable appointment with an anticipated start date of August 2026. Review of applications will begin February 1, 2026, and the position is open until filled.
