About the Lukango Tree Conservancy (LuTreeCo)

Lukango Tree Conservancy (LuTreeCo) is an African organization that is focused on the conservation of Trees and Shrubs that are native to Tropical Africa. Our primary emphasis is on in situ and ex situ conservation of threatened (IUCN) tree species. We are also building what we expect to be the most species-rich forest in Africa. This forest will serve as a future resilient source for seeds of threatened species. Within our tree nursery, our focus is on developing and or deploying propagation protocols of species that have been identified as threatened. Furthermore, our seedbank, in the making, will preserve seeds of these threatened species. We anticipate that our nursery and seedbank will be important resources for research and future reforestation efforts.
