About the Shaw Nature Reserve of the Missouri Botanical Garden

Shaw Nature Reserve of the Missouri Botanical Garden has over 2,400 acres of Ozark-border landscape with 1.5 miles of Meramec River frontage (both banks) and an extraordinary diversity of native plant and animal habitats. Located 35 miles southwest of St. Louis at Gray Summit, Missouri, it strives to inspire responsible stewardship of our environment through education, protection and restoration of natural habitats, and public enjoyment of the natural world. SNR works closely with the Missouri Department of Conservation to promote native plants and encourage their use in sustainable and environmentally friendly gardens and landscapes.
