Plant Collections

  • Special Collections:The aim is to acquire as many of the edible species as possible which could be adapted to grow in our Plant Hardiness Zone USDA 10b (approx). These agro climatic conditions have allowed us to specialise in tropical and subtropical plants, while still maintaining an interest in varieties grown in zones with a longer cool season. Given the Mediterranean climate, an increased interest has also been given to drought tolerant and drought resistant species.
Many of these plants also have an excellent ornamental value, and this demonstration site will encourage more informed decision making in agro-ecological sites, gardens, and other comparable endeavours.
