The Catalina Island Conservancy manages over 17,000 hectares of Mediterranean-type habitat off the coast of Southern California, USA including many rare and endemic plants and animals. The Conservancy established the native plant nursery and seed conservation facility in 1989 to provide plant and seed material for its conservation and restoration needs on Santa Catalina Island. Projects include rare plant conservation, habitat restoration, erosion control, and native landscaping.
