Restoration of desert habitats in Oman

The Oman Botanic Garden is a garden under construction. Our main aim is to display the native flora of Oman in typical habitats. The habitats will be planted with native species currently grown in our nursery. For one habitat, the northern gravel desert, we have already planted the habitat and restored the natural surface after planting. For all other habitats (12 in total) we are currently developing methodologies and procedures. There is very little information available on restoration of desert habitats and we are happy to share the procedures we are developing with BGCI and the global Botanic Garden network..
