About the Missouri State Arboretum

Designated as the Missouri Arboretum, the Northwest Missouri State University campus is a place where people can learn about trees and appreciate their natural beauty. The campus is home to more than 1,700 trees and more than 150 species that have grown and matured during the University’s long history of tree preservation.
As an ArbNet Level II Arboretum and Tree Campus USA member, the Missouri Arboretum maintains plants and trees which are representative of but not necessarily restricted to the flora and plant communities of Missouri. The arboretum is open to the public for educational programming and is dedicated to the development and preservation of woody plants.
