      Orchids:
The total number of orchid collections in Bogor BG is around 500 species, all of which are native to Indonesia. Besides the study on tissue culture, one of the studies conducted by our staff is about the population dynamic of saprophytic species Didymoplexis pallens. This species grows naturally under the giant bamboo of Gigantochloa spp., not far from the main office of Bogor BG. It is quite interesting to found a unique orchid species growing naturally inside the botanic garden’s area. In situ conservation in an ex situ conservation area.

      Rafflesia:
Rafflesia spp. has a strategic value from both scientific and conservation viewpoints. The study on conservation biology of Rafflesia in Bogor BG has been carrying out using many different approaches including anatomical studies, seed characterization, and in vitro studies. As part of these, ecological observation has also been conducted on the natural population of Rafflesia patma in Leuweung Sancang, West Java.

      Apocynaceae:
One of the collections from Apocynaceae family is Kibatalia wigmani. The species is considered as important because of its conservation status. According to IUCN Red List (2008), it is categorized as Vulnerable. The plants were collected by Bogor BG staff from Minahasa, North Sulawesi.

Of all Dipterocarps species collected in Bogor BG, 36 of which are also categorized as Threatened. These include 6 Dipterocarpus species, 6 Hopea species, 10 Shorea species, and Upuna borneensis, a monotypic genus endemic to Borneo. All the 36 species are listed below:
