Reverse the Red has announced pre-applications for the 2026 Accelerator Award are open from now until 03 April 2026.

This award recognises and accelerates impactful conservation actions that contribute to species recovery.

Winning projects will be selected across animal, fungi, and plant kingdoms and will receive up to USD $15,000 to implement a 12-month project, storytelling support to amplify their work and increased visibility through the Reverse the Red global network, and strategic guidance, capacity-building, networking, and other resources to advance their impact.

Interested organisations must first make a Reverse the Red Species Pledge and will then receive details about how to apply.

Reverse the Red is hosting sessions on 10 and 16 March to provide additional information and answer questions. Registration for the information sessions and eligibility details for the Accelerator Award can be found here:

This award is designed to accelerate conservation success by providing resources and recognition to organizations or individuals driving positive change for threatened species. It was developed to mobilise innovation, refine recovery-focused strategy, increase collaboration, and support the acceleration of action foundational to recovering species and creating positive impact on species and biodiversity.

In 2025, Reverse the Red awarded 9 winners and the winning projects and the announcement can be found here:
