About the Stone Lane Gardens
An enchanting 5-acre woodland garden on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park in Devon, UK, famous for National Collections of Birch (Betula) trees and Alder (Alnus) trees and the annual ‘Mythic Garden’ sculpture exhibition. The garden was created in 1971 by the late Kenneth Ashburner, and now a charity has been formed to safeguard this unique collection of birch trees and alder trees. Stone Lane Gardens is actively involved in research, education and conservation of birch and alder trees.
