About the Emmetts Garden

Laid out in the late 19th century in the informal style of the influential Victorian gardener William Robinson, this charming shrub garden is situated at the highest point in Kent. It contains many rare and exotic trees and shrubs from across the world in a natural landscape, under planted with naturalised bulbs. An Italianate rose garden, created in 1910, and the rock garden, built in 1937, provide summer colour. Impressive displays of daffodils, bluebells, camellias and rhododendrons in spring.
