About the Jensen-Olson Arboretum

Founded in 2007 by Caroline Jensen by converting her private garden into a public garden. The collections have over 800 accessions with the genus Primula as the cornerstone. The historic vegetable garden has been in continuous use since 1904 when the site what homesteaded by immigrant gold miners. Uniquely sited on Alaska's Inside Passage on a south facing cove which creates a favorable micro-climate to garden in a cool maritime climate.
