In additional to the global office based in the United Kingdom, BGCI has offices in the United States of America, China, Kenya, and Russia
BGCI’s International staff based across the globe is comprised of full-time, seconded, and volunteer staff.
Based at The Huntington Botanical Gardens in southern California (USA), Abby connects BGCI’s global initiatives to the U.S. botanic garden community, and leverages U.S. capacity, expertise, and resources where it is most needed.
Igor manages BGCI’s efforts in Russia and is a member of the Russian Council of Botanic Gardens.
Xiangying manages BGCI’s projects in China based at the South China Botanical Garden, CAS, Guangzhou-Guangdong province.
Kirsty manages BGCI’s programme of work in Africa, which has a strong focus on tree conservation and forest restoration. She is based at the IUCN (Eastern and Southern Africa) Regional Office in Nairobi, Kenya.
Greetha is from Malaysia and has a Ph.D. in Plant Science from the Faculty of Agriculture, Universiti Putra Malaysia. She is based at Singapore Botanic Gardens.
Murphy is based at The Morton Arboretum in Chicago, U.S.A, where she works as the Director of Global Tree Conservation. Murphy operates as a US-based representative for the Global Trees Campaign.
