3rd Global Botanic Gardens Congress - ConclusionsOn the basis of reports from each symposium session, conclusions from the congress were presented at the end of the congress. These focused around the four main themes of the Congress:
For each theme, the conclusions highlight the main achievements presented at the congress, challenges remaining to be addressed and recommendations for future actions. These conclusions will form the basis of a document to be presented to the Executive Secretary of the Convention on Biological Diversity as a contribution to the in-depth review it is presently undertaking of the Global Strategy for Plant Conservation.

Challenges in Botanical Research and Climate Change
The 2nd World Botanic Gardens Scientific Congresswill be held in Delft, the Netherlands, on 29 June - 4 July 2008. The main themes are Conservation and Climate Change, Bionics, New Systematics and Future Issues. Registration for those wishing to contribute a paper is 15 December

As the Curatorial Intern at The Scott Arboretum of Swarthmore College, Elizabeth Haegele was offered the chance to travel. She chose to join the BGCI Global Botanic Gardens Congress in Wuhan and this is her blog about the experience.
