HEAD GARDENER: Wentworth Castle Gardens & Stainborough Park(£22,000 plus final salary pension) Wentworth Castle Gardens near Barnsley is the only Grade 1 listed Park and Garden in South Yorkshire. The 600 acre estate opened daily to the public in 2007 following a £15 million restoration project supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund. We are looking for an experienced and dynamic leader to manage the Garden-Estates team of 10 staff and around 50 volunteers, supervising landscape maintenance and restoration projects to the highest possible standard. The role has specific responsibility for the 50 acre Gardens, which include important 18th century landscape features and monuments and 3 National Plant Collections. To succeed, you will need to demonstrate a “can-do” attitude and have excellent professional training. You should also have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
