Executive Director, Lockerly Arboretum Foundation

Lockerly Arboretum Foundation, Inc. in Milledgeville, Georgia seeks Executive Director responsible to the Board of Trustees to provide vision and direction and is responsible for overall programming and management of the Arboretum.

Candidates should possess leadership and public relations skills with a successful track record of management and fiscal integrity. A knowledge of and passion for the environment, natural habitats, horticulture and research is a must.

Understanding of nonprofit management and working with a board of trustees as a professional or volunteer is a plus.

Occasionally this person will be expected to develop programs and teach diverse groups appropriate classes based on his/her specialty.

  • A bachelor's degree in applied plant science, botany or horticulture is required; a master's degree or higher is preferred.
  • 5 years progressively increasing management experience is required.
  • Experience in arboretums, botanical gardens or a related organization is required.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
