About the Puerto Vallarta Botanical Gardens
In old growth tropical dry forest at 1300 ft above sea level. Mexican native orchids, cacti, trees etc, coffee and chocolate garden and other collections. Jungle trails and river swimming, views of soaring mountain peaks. Open to the public everyday except Mondays. Admission 30 pesos, students under 16 years of age are admitted free of charge. Many parts of the gardens including restrooms are handicapped friendly.

The Puerto Vallarta Botanical Gardens, who's legal not- for- profit name in Mexico is "Botanical Gardens of Vallarta, AC" is a education and conservation facility. Hundreds of native trees are being propigated the nursery area for local re-forestation projects spearheaded by the garden.

Local schools now make the gardens a priority when teaching students ecology and conservation. The gardens are also a santurary for many kinds of wild birds. Educational opportunites include a small natural history museum and insect collection and guided tours by bi-lingual tour guides. Collections of Mexican Oaks and orchids
