Restoring a 'holy hill' in Mangyangguang Village, China

BGCI China is collaborating with Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden to restore Dai Holy Hill Forest. Much of the original forest has been converted to rubber plantations & the remaining fragment is degraded due to timber removal. This project has provided an excellent opportunity for education. A new BGCI/Global Trees Campaign publication highlights the vital role of botanic gardens in safeguarding threatened conifers from extinction. The report outlines priority taxa of conservation concern and makes recommendations to guide further action. Find out more  

Latest IUCN Red List update - Significance for plant conservation

The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species now includes conservation assessments of 19,374 plant species, 10,487 (54%) of which are threatened with extinction. Find out more
