Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden becomes BGCI's latest patron member

28 August 2013

Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden (KFBG) has become a Patron Member of BGCI.

We are delighted that KFBG has joined BGCI as a key partner and we look forward to working together in a mutually beneficial way.

KFBG has an outstanding record of environmental outreach work in Southeast Asia, where it works tirelessly to raise the profile of conservation and to build the necessary technical capacity to implement conservation and ecological restoration activities.

There have been close links between BGCI and KFBG for many years and one particularly successful joint initiative has been the development of a Scholarship Programme allowing young conservationists from across China to learn and benefit from the expertise available at KFBG.  Find out more about this programme here.

KFBG is also involved in ground-breaking work on forest restoration - of particular relevance to the newly established Ecological Restoration Alliance of Botanic Gardens coordinated by BGCI.

As a patron member of BGCI, KFBG joins a number of other large botanic gardens that work closely with BGCI to help shape our programme and determine future directions for the organisation.

We are immensely grateful for the support of KFBG and look forward to enhanced cooperation and the development of new cooperative initiatives.
