Inauguration of Pakistan Botanic Gardens Network

GC University Lahore has established Pakistan Botanic Gardens Network Secretariat (PBGN) in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment for developing links with national and international botanic gardens. Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi, Federal Minister for Environment was the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of the Pakistan Botanic Garden Network Secretariat. The secretariat is helping in establishing botanic gardens of different colleges and universities all over the country. The building includes lecture room, herbarium, laboratory, and seminar room. PBGN hold its first seminar on ‘Conserving and Restoring the Undesignated Remnants of Natural Plant Communities’ that includes remnants, Harrapa Forest, Butea Forest and Birch Forest. These were presented as case studies before the experts during the technical sessions of the seminar. Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi, Federal Minister for Environment, inaugurating the Secretariat.
