Manglietia sinica on IUCN Species of the Day

Manglietia sinica, also known as Magnolia sinica, is listed as ‘Critically Endangered’ on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. This magnolia species occurs on forested slopes in south-east Yunnan, China, where it is known from just a single, tiny population. Manglietia sinica is considered to be one of the most threatened magnolias in the world.
