IUCN provides right tools for the communication job20th May 2007
Announcing the CEPA ToolkitIn the age of the Internet, there’s no need to wait for the book to come out. The new CEPA Toolkit is immediately available online. CEPA stands for Communication, Education and Public Awareness - important instruments for conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity. The toolkit was developed by the IUCN Commission on Education and Communication, commissioned by the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), and designed specifically for use by professionals charged with implementing National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plans (NBSAP Coordinators). Printed copies will be available in July. The toolkit offers a wide range of resources to update professional knowledge and skills. It includes fact sheets, checklists and practical examples from all over the world. The website’s list of contents includes: Complete toolkit CEPA Everyone is invited to explore these resources. The toolkit's target group is NBSAP Coordinators, and the structure of the kit reflects the kinds of questions they may have as they go about their challenging work. The “networking” resources in Section 1 can help you get started using CEPA tools to advance conservation and sustainable development, even if your time and financial resources are very limited. And if you are working at the level of a national campaign, the “strategic communication” resources in Section 4 will be of interest to you. News from IUCN CEC website - 2nd May 2007 |
