Directorship of the Botanic Garden and Harcourt Arboretum

The University of Oxford intends to make an appointment to the Directorship of the Botanic Garden and Harcourt Arboretum, in succession to Mr Timothy Walker who will step down from the directorship on 31 July 2014. The primary roles of the Director will be to lead the development and implementation of the Garden’s strategic plan, research, wider engagement and teaching; and to co-ordinate the overall development, design and cultivation of the collections. Both of these should maintain and enhance the Garden’s international standing for scholarship, horticultural reputation and impact.

The successful candidate will have an international research reputation in a relevant field, together with experience of fundraising and collections management and a commitment to education/outreach activities.

Deadline for applications: Monday 30 June 2014.
