The National Natural History Museum of Paris, major establishment specialized in the natural and human sciences, recruits
FOR 2 SCIENTIFIC COMMUNICATION DEPARTMENTS.
Reporting to the General Director, each Department Director will participate in the management of the Museum. He/She will contribute in defining the general orientations of the institution, elaborate on and carry out the scientific program, supervise the department team and be responsible for the general administration of the respective department.
THE DIRECTOR OF THE BOTANICAL AND ZOOLOGICAL PARKS AND GARDENS (REF : DJBZ) The department will manage the plant and living animal collections of its 9 national sites and will be involved in implicating public awareness programs, applied research and conservation measures.
THE DIRECTOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF GALLERIES (REF: GALLERIES) The Department of Galleries will coordinate the activities of the 3 Galleries of the Jardin des Plantes: the Great Gallery of Evolution, the Compared Anatomy and Paleontology Gallery and the Mineralogy Gallery. The Director’s mission will include developing scientific knowledge, increasing the public awareness of scientific knowledge and research and initializing public debates in specific scientific domains.
All the candidates must be eligible to direct the scientific department for which they will be nominated both on the national and international level. Their scientific experience must justify their eligibility and capacity to carry out the projects of the Department.
