Exhibition Officer - Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh
Starting Salary £21,344
We are looking to recruit a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to work as part of our Exhibition team at Inverleith House. This will include:
◾day-to-day management of the exhibitions and external income, including ordering of goods and services, budgeting and maintenance of accounts
◾management of exhibition installation and de-installation, including shipping, insurance and the recruitment of freelance specialist staff
◾recruitment and supervision of exhibition information staff, including volunteers;
◾provision of support in the following areas: artist liaison, audience information
◾including press, marketing and publications); development and management of public engagement programme for each exhibition; programming and strategic development; health and safety provision
◾provision of support to others within RBGE regarding exhibitions and events as required
Applicants must possess a relevant degree, or have equivalent knowledge, be willing to work as part of a small team, be highly organised and possess well-developed practical skills. An interest in public engagement with botanical science through art and the development of new audiences using traditional means and social networking is desirable.
