Seeking your views; two new publications
We're seeking the views of BGCI members on two new documents:
Draft document: The International Agenda for Botanic Gardens in Conservation This document is being revised to produce a second edition. The first edition has been important in setting the scene for the wide range of activities relating to biodiversity that are undertaken by botanic gardens around the world. It was published in 2000, and nearly 500 botanic gardens have signed up to the International Agenda.
The views of BGCI members on the draft text for a new edition of the International Agenda are invited. We look forward to your response.
Discussion paper: Conserving wild plants for livelihoods - botanic gardens working with local communities One important role of botanic gardens recognised in the International Agenda is working with local communities to conserve biodiversity and develop livelihoods. BGCI has produced a discussion document on this topic.
Again, your views on this document are very much welcomed by BGCI – we hope that it will provoke lively debate. We look forward to your response.
