BGCI’s Users Voice their Opinions on Education Material
29 May 2007
BGCI has conducted a review of its education material – the website, Roots and Cuttings, with its members. Julia Willison, head of BGCI’s education department said “We decided last year that it was time we practiced what we preached and carried out some formative evaluation of our resources. With the 6th International Congress on Education in Botanic Gardens bringing hundreds of our colleagues from around the world together we couldn’t think of a better time to get their opinions down on paper.”
“We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who completed the forms at the congress and on the International Diploma in Education Botanic Gardens (run at Kew in October and November 2006), and to those who returned one of the forms sent out with the last issue of Roots. We appreciate your input and can assure you that your responses, comments and ideas are feeding directly into our planning for the next couple of years.”
This review is the first run by BGCI on its education resources for several years and the findings will influence BGCI planning to ensure future developments are relevant and positive for users.
