New Staff at BGCI
3 New Staff Join BGCI
BGCI has recently recruited 3 new members of Staff. All are to be based in Descanso House, Kew. BGCI has strengthened its development team with Will Rogowski as Director of Corporate Relations and Laura Hobley as Development Manager. Mark Giles has joined BGCI as an Program Assistant.
Will Rogowski has spent most of his career in the private sector as Business Development Director and Client Service Director within national and international marketing communications agencies. More recently he worked as Head of Marketing & Communications for the United Nations Environment Programme, World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC), the UN’s world centre for biodiversity.
During his five years at UNEP-WCMC, Will championed numerous initiatives on Corporate Social Responsibility issues including the Branding Biodiversity concept in partnership with RSPB and achieved a global media audience of over four billion people. He also helped to establish excellent relationships with a range of corporate organisations as well as partnering with the Times Educational Supplement on a year-long programme called World Watch, which reached over 50,000 educators across the UK each month.
Laura Hobley is responsible for fund raising, particularly from trusts and foundations. Before joining BGCI, Laura was employed as Fundraiser for the charity Trees for Cities, successfully securing funding to support environmental and conservation projects in deprived urban areas. Laura has a long-standing interest in environmental issues, in particular the political context, and holds a Masters Degree in Pan-European Politics from Exeter University, UK.
Mark Giles, who has recently joined BGCI as Assistant in the UK office studied Marine Geography at Cardiff University, Wales where he gained a wide base of experience from hydrographic surveying through to ecosystems and conservation. After graduating, Mark spent 6 months working for the marketing and events department of the university before returning to London.
