Neotropical Primate Conservation (NPC) is looking for someone to do a botanic investigation in the La Esperanza area in Amazonas, Peru. The project currently involves investigation work on mammals and especially primates, environmental education, reforestation, and we are trying to develop economic alternatives for the people. The main aim is to form a community run conservation reserve. For more information look at www.neoprimate.org NPC is looking for someone to do a plant census, probably focusing on primate food sources, help creating a botanical garden in an existing patch of forest, and train local students who will be coming to work with them. Hortus botanicus Leiden, The Netherlands Cycads of the Hortus botanicus Leiden The Hortus botanicus has a large collection of Cycads with very many historical specimens. All specimens have been properly documented and photographed. We are looking for a volunteer who is interested to write a garden guide to this group based on information already gathered at the garden.
