About the Louisiana State Arboretum
The Louisiana State Arboretum is run by the Louisiana Office of State Parks. It is the only Preservation Area in the State Parks system. It is dedicated to preserving the native trees of Louisiana and educating the public about them. The new visitor center opened in September 2009 and has an exhibit on the forest of Louisiana. There are also 6 miles of hiking trails with marked trees.
