About the Antony

Antony's formal gardens, set in a Repton landscape with beautiful views to the River Lynher, feature lawns, hedges, a summer garden, small Japanese garden, terraces, a knot garden and borders with roses and mixed shrubs. There are many fine trees, including a magnificent black walnut and 'champion trees' Ginkgo biloba and cork oak. There is also an extensive National Collection of Hemerocallis (daylilies) with 610 cultivars. The Woodland Garden (not NT but admission free to NT members on days when the house is open) contains the National Collection of Camellia japonica (300 cultivars), beautiful magnolias, rhododendrons, fine trees and shrubs, wild flowers and river walks. Sculptures can be found in both the formal and woodland parts of the garden.
