About the Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens
The Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens is one of Australia's youngest, opening to the public in May 2003. Covering 51.4 ha, the Gardens are being developed over a stage by stage 20 year development plan.
The Botanic Gardens focus on flora from the Central Queensland Coast bioregion of Queensland for amenity horticulture, research, education and conservation. We also hold collections of non-local natives and exotic plants.
