About the Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens
The Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens is one of Australia's newest Botanic Gardens, opening to the public in May 2003. Covering 51.4 ha, the Gardens are being developed over a stage by stage 17 year development plan.
The Gardens focus on flora from the Central Queensland Coast bioregion of Queensland for amenity horticulture, research whilst revegatting the Lagoons Reserve site.
