The tropical fruit trees are Cherimoya selections by Dr A Badr, and some young mango seedlings, Figs, Guava, and other fruits need to be conserved especially new selections of cherimoya and its new seedling hybrids.

Work on A. senegalensis is showing promising results, and the selection of cactus bear suitable for botanic gardens breeding programs began with Dr Badr scine 1967. Work has continued on cherimoya in 1989 till now. Selection of other fruits is continuous, new varieties after evaluation of prickly pear were selected. Improvement by pollination of cherimoya has been done.

Guidance is offered to visitors, students, farmers studies in cooperation with food technology. The aim is to help small farmers, women and big farmers to begin small projects by applying our research on papaya, prickly pear, cherimoya in cooperation with Dr A Badr, who has done breeding studies using conventional methods (seeds and grafting), and through the use of biotechnology for rapid propagation and distribution of selected and promising varieties. Similar work is taking place with loquat selection and biotechnology.
