About the Birmingham Botanical Gardens and Glasshouses

Birmingham Botanical & Horticultural Society, an independent educational charity manage the gardens, which were opened on June 11th 1832.
Designed by J. C. Loudon the general layout is much the same today.
The glasshouse ranges are mid-nineteenth century.
Ernest Henry Wilson, worked here between 1893-1897, before working at Royal Botanic Garden Kew and Arnold Arboretum.
