About the Jardin botanique de Paris
With more than 15 000 species and varieties of plants cultivated on more than 70 hectares, the Jardin Botanique de Paris carries out its missions of conservation and study flora diversity, engage in dialogue with the scientific community, improve the public’s understanding of the collections, with four sites from the East and the West of the capital:
the Jardin des Serres d’Auteuil and its tropical landscapes,
the Parc de Bagatelle and its internationally renowned rose gardens,
the Parc Floral de Paris and its regional flora,
the Arboretum de Paris and its trees from temperate regions all over the world.
Founded in 1995, the Jardin Botanique de Paris has been recognized by the Association des jardins botaniques de France et des pays francophones (The association of botanic gardens of France and french-speaking countries) since 1998. The Jardin Botanique de Paris has a bank seed of regional flora and publishes an Index Seminum.
Many events take place in the Parc Floral de Paris and the Parc de Bagatelle: concerts, photo exhibitions,… Every year, in these parks and in the Jardin des Serres d’Auteuil and the Arboretum, a botanic exhibition take place : in 2018 the topic will be « Plants and insects ».
