About the Parque Pedagogico Etnobotanico OMAERE

The Omaere Park is an enchanting corner of the Amazon, five minutes away from Puyo that invites you to enjoy the Ecuadorian Amazon. Its unique biodiversity and its cultural richness.

The study of flora is the priority in OMAERE park. It covers 15.6 hectares, of which 5 are primary forest (natural forest that has received no human intervention) where we can also find a strong diversity of plant species and animals. Then 10 hectares are secondary forest (primary forest that was destroyed and that is slowly regenerating) and that are today being reforested.

The Pedagogical Ethnobotanical Omaere Park does not only concentrate their efforts in Botany. One of its objectives is also to help fortify the cultures of Indigenous nationalities of the region.
