About the Moscow State University Botanical Garden

The motto of the MSU Botanical garden is “The Garden is everybody’s. Its benefits are everybody’s. Its care is everybody’s” (taken from the speech of the first Moscow University Garden director Georg Franz Hoffmann (1807)).

All collections are grown outdoors and come from temperate parts of Europe, Asia (Northern, Eastern, Western and Central) and North America. Totaly in the Garden 100 species from Russian Federation Red book, 50 species from the Red book of Moscow region.

The Garden offers annual educational programs for adults and weekend classes for children of different age, horticultural workshops.
