About the Botanic Garden of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens SEED BANK

Our garden is the first Botanic Garden of Greece founded in 1835.

There are c. 200 different plant species (mainly trees and shrubs) from around the world cultivated in an area of 7000 square meters.

The Garden is situated in the heart of Athens near the ancient cemetary of Keramikos and unfortunately is not open to the public
