'Communities in Nature' project – Deadline extended to 16th January, 2012

11 January 2012

The deadline for submitting applications to the ‘Communities in Nature: Growing the Social Role of Botanic Gardens’ BGCI’s project has now been extended to Monday 16th January at 12.00. There has been some confusion about the submission date for the applications. The deadline date has been 10th January, 2012.  However, as several gardens are in the process of developing their application forms, we have decided to move the deadline date. We look forward to receiving your applications.

This year, with the continued support of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, BGCI is offering five UK botanic gardens the exciting opportunity to grow and enhance their social roles, share in building a global community of practice and pilot their own community-based projects. By taking on this challenge, BGCI’s project partners will find themselves in the vanguard of a development that many agree is critical to the successful engagement of botanic gardens with their host communities.
