Success Breeds Success for Education Congress
UK
23rd August 2006
BGCI’s 6th International Congress on Education in Botanic Gardens is set to be its largest ever, a clear indication of the growing importance of education in the work of botanic gardens around the world. With upwards of 300 delegates from over 40 countries the Congress, entitled ‘The Nature of Success, Success for Nature’ and hosted by the University of Oxford Botanic Garden (Sept 10th – 14th), is a unique gathering of the leading figures in botanic garden education. “We’ve been overwhelmed by the level of interest in this year’s congress,” says Julia Willison, conference organiser and BGCI’s Head of Education. “It’s a clear indication that botanic gardens see education as fundamental to plant conservation and sustainability and will enable us to highlight their contribution to the United Nations’ Decade for Sustainable Education (2005 – 2014).” Find Out More6th Education Congress: Proceedings Now Available |
